Apple quietly updated the malware protection for Mac OS X During the broadcast version of Mac OS X 10.6.4, Apple updated XProtect.plist, a database of signatures used to detect malware. Sophos claims that Apple’s silence security issues is a false sense of security among users.
Security is not a subject on which Apple likes to lie down, except perhaps for the promotion of its operating system Mac OS.
Just about every Mac user I know thinks that their computer is more secure than it’s Windows counterpart. Is that really true?
Well, its certainly true that Macs seem to be targeted far less often than Windows machines.
Is the Apple machine less tageted because it is inherently more secure though?
