Intel and Power PC Macs use different native schemes. Where Intel-based Mac systems are compatible with Apple_partition_scheme, Power PC-based Mac can only be used with GUID_partition_scheme. These incompatibility issues can create data loss situations. Hence to recover the lost data, you need to use Mac Data Recovery utilities. When a user tries to install Mac OS X on a hard disk that is connected to an Intel-based Mac system, an error message may be encountered as:”You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume.
