Monday Aug 15, 2011

Rescue Deleted Mac Files from Bad Drive-Hard Drive Recovery for MacWhether it is a personal computer or an office system, we used to store most of our day to day work in the hard drive and if due to any reason, the hard drive goes bad, all our data in the drive gets lost or inaccessible. Whatever precautions, we may take, it is never possible to prevent accidental/sudden hard drive failure leading to loss or inaccessibility of valuable data. Moreover, failure of a hard drive can happen with any system, including the most advanced Macintosh systems. However, in case of Mac operating system based computers, with  technologies, like hard drive recovery Mac, one can be able to recover the valuable data from the troubled hard drive.

There can be many possible reasons behind the loss or inaccessibility of data from a Mac hard drive. It can be a file system corruption issue or the corruption of the partition table, which makes the hard drive partition completely inaccessible. Furthermore, virus/Malware infection, electric power surge, unsystematic system shut down, operating system malfunction or any other software/hardware contradicts can be some of the major reasons behind hard drive data loss or inaccessibility. Sometimes, due to complicated problems and without finding any proper resolution to the problems, you may have to format the particular problematic drive or the whole hard drive, which also leads to the complete erasing of your valuable data. Undelete Mac Files and Data from Mac OS X

Sunday Aug 14, 2011

Undelete Mac Files and Data from Mac OS XFile loss and data loss are two most critical problems, for every computer user. You may lose your valuable files and data from all types of computers. Even the safest operating system, Mac OS X, may fail at some point of time and data loss situations take place. In such cases, a complete backup of your mission critical data proves to be of great help. You can easily restore your lost data from backup and bring your system back to life. However, if backup is not updated or it is not available at all, Mac data recovery becomes need of hour.

Most of the computer users think that when a file is deleted from the hard drive, it is removed forever. There is no mean to retrieve the deleted or lost files from Mac OS X hard drive. In fact, it is not true. The lost or deleted files are still there on your Mac OS X hard drive and can be recovered using appropriate Mac undelete software.

Mac OS X creates index of all the file on hard drive, in file system. Every file has entries in the file system index, which include file name, file location, file size, and file type. When a file is accessed from the hard drive, the index is accessed by the operating system. Operating system reads the storage location of the file and extract it.

Whenever a file is deleted, only the file system index entry of the file is deleted and the disk space occupied by the deleted file is set as free. The deleted file is recoverable until it is being overwritten by any other file. Read the rest of this entry »

‘You Cannot Install Mac OS X on This Volume’ – Mac Error

Tuesday Jun 15, 2010

Intel and Power PC Macs use different native schemes. Where Intel-based Mac systems are compatible with Apple_partition_scheme, Power PC-based Mac can only be used with GUID_partition_scheme. These incompatibility issues can create data loss situations. Hence to recover the lost data, you need to use Mac Data Recovery utilities. When a user tries to install Mac OS X on a hard disk that is connected to an Intel-based Mac system, an error message may be encountered as:”You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume.

Mac OS X cannot start up from this volume”The reason behind the error message is Mac OS X installer. User even fails to select the disk in such cases. It happens because of non-native hard disk partitioning scheme with respect to system processor. Though operating system gets installed on a volume, but the issue is hard disk partitioning scheme. Thus to solve the issue, we need to repartition the hard disk using GUID_partition_scheme.

Everyone who owns a Apple computers think that they no longer need to worry because hacks and viruses can no longer get to them. But that is not always true because as time passes, viruses will be created. The Mac OS X in particular seems to have many weak spots. This is how data is lost in Macs same way as data is lost in Personal Computers (PC). The fact that Macs statistically get less viruses does not mean anything. This is because as compared to the PC, there aren’t as many Macs in use out there.

Your precious eye candy Macintosh computer is still able to be attacked by viruses and hackers and lots of important data may be lost and destroyed in the process. The Mac hard drive may even crash. Also, some simple mistakes on your part will always lead to loss of data. Then there are also those inevitable physical shocks or damage to the PC that may causes data loss.
